i would consider it a part of your cardio. Compound exersizes are good as a supplemental type workout but not something to do as part of your core training.

Agreed. Always good to add variety to your routine. I like Kettle Bells, or any other dynamic type weighted exercise, for promoting flexibility and range of motion.

Good, I'm using for a part of my cardio, but also thinking it should help my 54 year old body get a bit more flexibilty. Its a good change of pace, doing it with my wife, nice to do some working out together with her, we have never had the same interest before and both like training together lol. Anybody ever do a turkish get up, they are pretty awesome!

Perfect! Awesome you two can do it together too. We just started something similar. Funny how I can bust out some heavy reps on the shoulder press, and be fine the next day but swinging around that little kettle bell always has me sore.

Ha me too , those swings are killers, the instructor had us do 15 swings per minute, total of twenty sets, my legs were spaghetti lol.

I've got a couple of friends who swear by kettle bells. One if them is a f*ckin' beast! The others are all from Eastern Europe and Russia and for them kettle bells are bread and butter. I've never used them as I like barbells but as with any resistance training, I think it really depends on what you do with them and how heavy you go.

Remember the kettlebell swing is a great exercise, but you need to safely challenge yourself. You are paying a lot for crossfit, get your money's worth! I swing the 20k one handed and the 22k 2 handed.
