210 reps 135 bench
hey guys so today my buddy came to the gym and i decided to try this little workout routine with him. Im not quite sure what you call it but you start with whatever weight you can rep a lot on a flat bench (we did 135lb) and start with 1, then 2 then 3 then 4 etc. once we got to 6 we took breaks after each set (i.e. i did 6 reps then he did then we jumped to 7 and so on all the way up to 20. i felt a super duper pump so that was nice and i wanted to switch it up a little bit, i was thinking about doing this routine maybe once a month to keep my muscles guessing? i am still trying to put on size I'm 203 6ft 1(ish) don't know my BF percentage probably anywhere from 10-13. so basically just sharing my experience with you guys and wondering if this could/would be beneficial ( i know everyone's body is different so maybe it will work out great for me to add this in once a month to put on size, and maybe it won't) we finished off the workout with 5 sets of cable flys (40lbs) which straight killed me, the pump was REAL!!!
O and by the way I am running 750 of test cyp a week.
let me know what y'all think
have a nice day!!!

Sounds impressive bud, I couldnt do that now my soulder would fail me. But as you were asking, not something you would want to do ever week. Just a trick to shock the body or to see your limits

Sounds great Brother! I am with Animal my shoulder prevents me from flat bench.

It's impressive and I bet you had a good pump. I'm not sure but I believe you probably were destroying your muscles

i like to think the pump was worth it lol, ill tell you one thing thats interesting though and that is the soreness, you know when you lift heavy you get pretty sore (at least i do) and its a nice good sore but pretty intense, this sore is different its just there, not too intense but definitely there, i did one rep of 135 today because i wanted to see how it would feel and immediately my whole chest began screaming! so your probably right that it was eating my muscles a lil. but you gotta shock em once n a while so they don't know what to expect!!!!!

Lighter weight for me, is easier to concentrate on using my chest muscles more then i use my shoulders. That being said, i still (try to be alpha and) bench the 145 dumbells every once in a while.

Go on utube and look up Mike Rashid and CT Fletcher, they have a bunch of training sessions where they do stuff like this. I like to throw stuff like this in!
The only true failure is quitting, any other attempt is practice!

On incline i will start with a one 25per side a work up to 6 per side addind one 25 each set ....then after i hit my 6 per side i take a quick rest then do an all out drop set back down to one per side .... Not every chest day mind you

I love reps! Max reps in my opinion trumps max weight all day long!
