Calves have been a bit of a slow gain zone for me, but reciently I have been able to increase the size of my calves by adding High volume sprints with short recovery periods Just adding 5-10 Min twice week has my calves pumped and looking bigger.To be honest I do not enjoy this part of my overall program(it is a killer) It has helped me tho to look forward to leg days in the gym, now that I can see development in that area.Sprinting stimulates the release of anabolic hormones,muscles become insulin-sensitive,absorbing more nutrients = growth.Starting off with 4-5 90 yard sprints with 90 sec rest Adding 1-2 Spirts per wk to keeping the difficulty level on overdrive I aim to make this session a short, sharp, shock.
