Workout Duration
Ive Been Reading On Different Ideas About Workout Times. My Workouts Normally Last About 60-70 Minutes With Little Rest In Between Sets. Ive Read And Heard That After About 45 Minutes Of Weight Training Your Body Starts Releasing Cortisol Which Depletes Muscle That Your Working So Hard Trying To Build. Ive Also Heard That Overtraining Is BS And There Are Some Pretty Jacked Dudes That Workout For Multiple Hours Straight (Guys Like Rich Piana And CT Fletcher) And Claim The More And Longer You Work A Muscle Group The Better Results You Get. Im Sure Using Gear Helps Keep Your Body From Going Catabolic But Was Wondering What Are Your Opinions On How Long You Should Workout In One Session Before You Are Wasting Time And Muscle? Also Should You Take A Different Approach Versus Being On Or Off Cycle In The Gym? Any Thoughts And Opinions Welcome.

It doesn't matter. Just go hard and keep your muscles guessing

I dunno what the real world difference is but there are people who do shit all and grow like weeds and people who effectively work their cunts out labouring all day and grow just as well if not more.

Rarely can I complete a workout in 45 minutes. Most of my workouts are between an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and a half. I wouldn't focus to much on how long you take, but keep attention to your intensity level in the gym. The muscle should tell you when your done, not the clock. Hope this helps.

Yea Im Sure The Intensity Of The Workout Makes More Difference Than Time Spent In The Gym. Im Thinking As Long As You Get Plenty To Eat And Plenty Of Sleep 90 Minutes Or 2 Hours In The Gym At A Time Definitely Wont Hurt Your Gains

Exactly! Don't overthink It. If you are in there counting minutes you are doing it wrong and overtraining is a real thing. If you hit a plateau or you aren't hitting atleast the same numbers you did last week you are over training. If your muscles aren't growing they are not being given enough time to during the resting phase so again you are overtraining.
Go in and kill your muscles and get out! We can't tell you how long you should workout because we don't know the conditioning you or your muscles are in. Only you and your body will know.

I come into the gym with a plan. I execute the plan. Sometimes it takes 1.5 hours sometimes 1.25, rarely more than 1.5 hours. Over training I think is an individual thing. Like all things we all have our limit.

That's a good point also, sometimes things don't go to plan and you feel like you can go more or you are in a bad way and need more rest than usual between sets to see you through.

Those are all good points you guys are making. I feel like alot of ppl get caught up with certain rules and limits they set for themselves. Listening to what your body tells you is probably the only rule you should have.
