does anyone even get doms in smaller muscle groups anymore?
only seem to be getting it in my legs and chest mainly, sometimes slightly in other areas. lifts still increasing though?
i get alot more doms if i take a week or 2 off. maybe i should do that soon. Still doesnt occur in smaller muscle groups though
hoping im not somehow overtraining.

I don't think the mechanism is yet fully understood but DOMS is basically a feature of reasonable effort on a muscle or in a way that muscle is not used to.
It doesn't in any way indicate progress at all. Point in case I virtually get 0 doma a anywhere cause I do full body 3x a week.
Still progress just the same if not better.

Like Arnold said you have to shock the muscle. Might need to change it up a bit. I'm disappointed if I don't get sore from a workout and feel like I didn't get it done. I do a 4 day split and stay with the same exercises. A warm up set or 2 with each exercise then an all out set to failure. I force myself to get one+ more rep then previous workout until I get to ~12 reps then add ~5lbs more next time and force myself to get 8+ with the new weight. My body has no choice but to progress (grow). When I stop getting sore from an exercise I switch it out for another effective exercise and do the same. I also never workout 2 days in a row to get a systemic break, which no doubt sounds crazy to a lot of Bro's but it works for this hard gainer. I started out with an Arnold quote but I don't do volume training as I don't have his genetics. My training is more like Dorian's (without the crazy poundages).

Exactly what he said. Look up Ben Pakulski training videos. He is all about contracting the muscle at its shortest point and getting high quality reps. Has REALLY changed the way I lift and helped me.

BPak has some great videos! I just started watching him and have learned a ton. I have really started to focus on holding contraction throughout the range of motion on all movements. Lift with intention and concentrate on the target muscle. Seth Ferroce also has some cool videos about hand placement and foot placement for targeting different muscles.
As far as doms, I get it everywhere but in my arms...well up until I really started watching exactly what my bis and tris were doing. This weeks arm day was amazing. 2 days ago and my arms are still pretty sore, in a good way!
