      Thoughts on Overreaching?

Got a vacation coming up 5/25-6/2. Going to Houston to visit my cousin & then on to Playa del Carmen for a week w/ my friend who is getting married. My GOAL is to train my ASS off the 2-3 weeks up to 5/25, practically running myself into the ground (borderline overtraining) and taking the 10 days completely OFF, resting, eating all that glorious food, etc in hopes that my body supercompensates & uses all that food for recovery & not getting FAT. Because make NO mistake, I'll be at an all inclusive resort. This kid's GONNA EAT!

Gonna TRY to do 2-3 consecutive sessions w/ 1 off, minimizing the off days, and upping the volume in the lifting sessions a bit (adding a set to most exercises). That's a pretty big increase in frequency for me. Currently I lift 3-4 days/wk.

Advice? Should I keep my diet as-is? Raise the calories a BIT?

      Thoughts?

My advice would be to relax and enjoy yourself. Eat what u want just keep the portions within reason. Try to walk wherever u go.
For now, add in another training day or two. Always train heavy with a warmup set. Add in some drop sets to failure on last set and could incorporate some supersets. Keep rest times between sets to a minute. Also get in some cardio, pwo will work.

If u want to shed some lbs, cut back on the carbs. Use them centered around your workout, pre/pwo. Really though there is not much u can do in 10 days. Don't kill yourself or u will wind up getting sick by taxing your body too much.

Really life is about enjoying the moment. Have as much fun as possible, don't get arrested or put in a Mexican jail, meet some pretty girls, and worry about training when u get back.

Did you mean there isn't too much I can do to derail myself in 10 days, or that there isn't much I can do in 10 days to get ready for the trip? I've got 23 days till the trip. I'll be gone 10 days.

Was talking to a guy in the gym this AM. Telling him I was stoked for my vacation in a few weeks. Told him where I was going & he LIT UP! He was like "Ohhhhhh...I want to go back!!!" So, evidently, I'm going to have a good time

No sorry, I got confused. You can make a dent in 3 weeks for sure.

Advice is you're not gonna manage to keep your calories under control in a place like that. And they always seem to not have enough protein in their food servings. So take some.protien powder to kwep the protien intake up during that time. And I know you want to take time off training. But fit in 45mins every second day. Make the 10 days more of a deload than being completely off. Good thang about nthis approach is you won't be lazy to get back into training when you need to get started again
