I’ve been totally changing my mentality on chest. Trying to load up weight on bench press has fucked up my shoulders. Now my chest is the same size maybe bigger from focusing on fly movements
Funny you say this cause I just did DB flys the other day and focused on really stretching and using a slower controlled movement and a strong squeeze at the top...i use very light weight but went high rep and dropset...holy shit my chest was sore!!
But as you guys have pointed out light weight reallywont grow muscle over some good solid medium to heavy benching....the thing about DB flys is that really deep stretch! It does tear up muscle fiber like nobody's business!

Just keep in mind though soreness doesn't necessarily mean your growing more muscle then say stimulate muscle growth without experiencing extreme soreness.
In my option best to incorporate all rep ranges from heavy medium to light and your reps adjust as the weight gets lighter.

Also to touch on flys vs dumbels I find cables to be more superior most for accessory movement... Since free weights rely solely on the straight up and down force of gravity for each exercise, circular movements will always end up producing an inconsistent resistance curve where there is either a high degree of tension in the bottom half of the range of motion and very little at the top, or a high degree of tension in the top half with very little in the bottom. This is where cables can let you do something that dumbels can't, since they enable you to place the resistance in the proper line in order for consistent tension.. Hope that helps

I have been overtraining them for 3 plus years and I put a half an inch on them so it works.
I remember either reading or seeing an Arnold interview and he said it takes 3 years of intense work to grow calves....so there you go..3 yrs!.......except a half inch ain't enough so I'm gonna be overtraining calves till I die!

When I meant over train I meant the nucleus overload method.

I'm unfamiliar but let's hear what it is bro....

What I changed and what I do is i train calves every work out and basically try to hit em almost daily. I will do drop sets and hard and heavy and hit with high volume on the same work out. The thought being you can't really overtraon calves anyway ....

If you hit them daily like as in 7 days a week then that's kinda what it is. I'll link a video cos other wise I'll be typing for a while lol..

I'm not sure , my legs aren't bad by any means but they certainly aren't great either. On the flip side if would if I squatted maybe my legs would be bigger but I'd be out of taking extra days off that I wouldn't need to becusse my back was shot. I think I've gotten better at being able to active differnt parts of my quad and hamstring on the leg press through various feet positions, ROM and little tweaks
