That's it bro. I could probably have been a little more specific. More gear works if everything else is on point, but relying on heaps of it without lifting or eating right is a waste of money. I've seen dudes in the gym who say they're on grams of tren, but they look worse than natty non-lifters

Two more things I notice many guys neglect:
Squeeze and pause at the top of each shrug. Don't use your biceps or do that weird rolling thing.
And always do at least one rear dellt exercise when training shoulders. It looks stupid when you have big front delts but nothing at the back.

Use your hard earned education to educate others. My nephews have come a long way in a short time because they were given the proper knowledge and used it religiously. A lot of high school athletic programs do some form of training and you’ll see most of them doing bouncing bench presses and dumbbell curls. When they do squat, there’s no form or technique taught, just moving weight.
One thing I’ve learned as I’ve gotten stronger and older also is to not always go for just more weight. Don’t get me wrong throwing up a big number is awesome, but hitting something you’ve safely hit before for a single for multiple reps is a safer alternative for your joints in my book than going balls out all the time.

I guess there are lessons to learn from this discussion too - there is no single protocol, cycle, diet or mindset that works for all of us. I made loads of mistakes along the line, and learn new things every day.

That's on my agenda for next year - I'm signing up with a PL coach. Never too old to learn, and proper form is critical.
It's pretty pathetic that I can bench as much as I squat.
