Common mistakes we make in the gym
As an old fart, I wish I had the luxury of the internet and sites like BOP at my disposal when I started hitting the weights.
I'm sure we've all discovered things that work for us personally, but perhaps it's useful to start a thread sharing lessons learned. Apologies if this had already been done!
I'll kick it off:
1. Diet uber alles - you cannot gain a single inch unless you eat enough, and conversely, dropping fat requires a deficit.
2. More gear does not make you grow bigger or faster.
3. Squat motherfucker.
4. Focus on your triceps if you want bigger arms.
5. Sleep enough.
6. Remain humble.
I've got more, but don't want to steal the limelight, brothers.

#6 is my favorite! everone, not just bodybuilders should follow that rule!

I believe he meant using more gear in higher doses doesn’t equate to bigger/faster gains... because I’m with you Fancy, gear does make the gains happen more rapidly

Reduce time and increase intensity and concentration.

Great insights. I think it’s important to establish a mind muscle connection to move the weight via muscular contraction on the targeted muscle being trained rather then just moving from point A to point B with as much weight as possible. It’s not about how heavy the weight is but rather how heavy can you make the weight feel throughout the entire range of motion.
Also always be a student of the game.
If you don’t use it, you’ll lose it.
Do what most wont to achieve what most want.
