I agree wholeheartedly. I can speak for myself at least, when off cycle, I start becoming one big head case, thinking I'm losing all my strength, losing weight and size etc. I keep training (or at least try to train) like I'm still "on" which admittedly could even be setting myself up for injury. It might not be easy to just abandon they gym like that, but it really makes sense to have a total getaway and come back fresh.
I need to remind myself of this in a few weeks.. It's way easier to hop back on, but gotta stick to the game plan
