      I agree with Blades22,squats are essential for strength and size.I hate leg day,but squares are always my first list after stretching and warming up.I always change it up,front squats or back squats.Maybe give it a shot for a few months and take measurements before you start this,gauge the success or failure of this decision.Only time will tell,good luck to you

      After reading everyone's replies I had an epiphone. I have been thinking about this incorrectly in my head. I wanted to use the bike to replace squats for my quads. If I keep my squat reps lower and weight higher i will have the strength part of growth covered, then use the bike as volume or high rep work for growth in my quads. I think if I use this approach and "attack it from both sides" I would have more than enough stimulus for growth with less weat and tear on my joints and back.

      Makes perfect sense... Quality reps VS quantity my friend. Work smarter, not harder.

      Yeah because when I thought about it heavy squat as my base and each bike ride is about the same as light weight high rep leg press so there the volume.
