      Hammer Curls

Across the body or straight up and down like a bicep curl? I can't feel the difference but assume across the body is the better choice as it's moving at a different axis to bicep curls.
      Any suggestions + tips?

I do both. I go heavy across the chest then light and concentrated normal hammer curls.

The grip itself changes the dynamics from regular curls even if straight up and down which would be the same axis as regular curls.

You can even do cross body regular curls to slightly change the line of pull/angle.

But to answer your question I do both. I’ve actually been loving single arm hammer curls where I sit on the edge of a bench slightly twist my torso back and drag the db upwards. Gives a different angle and also helps mimic a side tricep or chest pose body position wise as well as the side quarter turn to an extent

It didn't even occur to me to do both, good advice!
