When I first got into bbing I read a lot of mike metzer and dorian yates training methods and used them a lot! Looking back on it now, I can see that they def worked to create hypertrophy but I needed to rest more to take advantage of the growth. It seems like that was the hardest part for me, it was not the HIT training sessions in the gym it was the damn mind games I played with myself while resting, trying to convince myself I was recovered and needed to get back in for another workout when in reality I was prob 'recovered' from the workout, but had not left any time for 'growth' to occur. I cant remember who I heard this analogy from, but its like digging a hole in the ground is = to workout out, you have created damage.. Now as you rest that body part the hole is getting filled back in, and eventually it will become level again. This is where most of us jump back in to train again, when we should wait a few more days and allow that hole (muscle) some more time to build a small mound (new muscle) on top of the hole before we start digging again. I feel like I spent a good amount of time digging a hole, then digging again once it was level without waiting for the growth to happen lol.. Anyhow, little tangent I went on there, but I think its always something good to remember when doing these kinds of high intensity workouts!
The rest is where the growth happens, as we age we need to allow more time for that. I designed this for maximum damage in a short period (saving calories) and adding recovery time. It works for all body types but is esp effective for hard-gainers and those of us over 35.
Thank you for the feedback. Lmk how it works for you!
