Always fun to add to a 5 year old Post! Most young guys train their Bi's like crazy cause they want Big Guns, totally failing to understand that 2/3 of arm size is Triceps related and that the fastest way to the 21-22" gun is to build massive Tri's (while also blasting bi's). Personally, I never tried to reinvent the wheel. Looked at what the big boys were doing, copied them and got similar results. If you wanna get Yoked you gotta Train like the big boys train (20-24 sets per body part), Eat like the big boys eat (5-6 meals per day), and Juice like the big boy's Juice... End of story.
I am now cursed with bad elbows. I tried changing up my grip from conventional to both narrow and wide, and in the course of those two workouts fucked my elbows something fierce. One much worse than the other. Consequence of getting old and too much wear and tear. But now I look at guys doing straight barbell curls or narrow preacher curls and I feel a tendon about to snap just looking at it. Sucks!
