Anyone do the Windows 10 update yet?

My son updated his computer and seems to like the new OS. Not sure if I wanna screw around with mine, though I do hate Windows 8...

I'm on the list to get it.

My only concern is that it will go to a subscription based system after a year, like the MS office suite.
edit: If MS goes subscription I'll be switching to googles, chrome OS.

Just upgraded............... make sure you Turn off ALL the reporting settings. Basically if you don't and choose express install Microsoft will be sent all web data you browse, including content and location.

Another thing I'm not happy with is windows 10 hides Internet Explorer and other software that competes with their new Edge browser.

Yep it does have the old style tools which I prefer.

Another interesting thing is the new Edge Browser doesn't support add-ons like java !?! does this mean no more updates every time the pc is turned on.

It's more secure not having those things. If you need them you will need to use a different browser. Firefox or chrome

If you want to be secure you want nothing running in the background
