      Electronic Frontier Foundation

      All,

I have been focused these last few months on all things regarding online anonymity and security. No doubt many of you are much more well versed in this arena than me, but I thought I would share something useful I have found. What I found was HTTPS Everywhere.

Obviously the most secure and anonymous way to surf around is to use a Tails OS from a flash drive, sign into VPN, then browse using TOR. Do not change screen size. Creating a completely different identity in all PGP encrypted communications and never divert. I use Kleopatra to create/encrypt/decrypt all public/private keys.

This is what you want to do to access the dark web and the areas there that may at first seem like an interesting idea only to have you waiting for your door to be kicked in or your worst fears regarding your loved ones played out in your nightmares.....I digress....

Those of you who have gone through this entire song and dance have come to realize the limitations in all this when regularly browsing around the internet. To this end I have worked to find the most anoymous and secure way to surf around while not sacrificing total efficiency.

I do many things to achieve this, but the newest useful tool I use is called HTTPS Everywhere which can be downloaded at the Electronic Frontier Foundation Site: About EFF | Electronic Frontier Foundation

They are involved in many endeavors regarding free speech and privacy. They offer many tools (like HTTPS Everywhere) and many security guides from the simple to the complicated.

I stood up my own DarkNet node once using FreeNet (which runs on a dedicated Linux platform) but the encryption is so heavy it's slow as shit, and the majority of the activity I found there was just pedos swapping kiddie porn. And unlike TOR, FreeNet has NO exit nodes onto the Internet at large, so what goes on FreeNet stays on FreeNet. Which is great for security but sucks for variety. And there's nothing stopping the government from infiltrating it, so you can still reveal your identity unless you're scrupulous about how you use it.

TOR isn't entirely anonymous. TAILS relies on the TOR network so it isn't anonymous either, but it does narrow the list of people who can track you. Don't forget that DARPA created TOR, and ARPA (which was what DARPA was called before the government retained their exclusive services) invented the Internet (originally known as ARPANET).

You see where I'm going with this, right? ARPA, a private concern, invents the Internet, gets absorbed by the US government, becomes DARPA, then creates The Onion Router network and TOR browser so people living in autocratic regimes can bypass local censorship and have free access to information from around the world. Would you imagine in your wildest dreams that the US government would let one of its own departments create an Internet browser that's so secure that even they couldn't track it?

I don't think so either. For details, go to YouTube and listen to any of Eli the Computer Guy's rants on TOR's 'so-called' anonymity.

PGP lives up to its name (Pretty Good Protection) but it's NFG (No Fucking Good) unless the person on the other end also is conscientious/paranoid [pick one] enough to be using it. There are a number of secure communication methods available that actually work but they all require the guy on the other end to be in on the scam. And any time two random (and non-governmental) Internet nodes start exchanging truly secure communication, it's bound to make the NSA wonder what the fuck else you're up to. If you don't want to draw the cop's attention, you don't drive a "ticket-me-red" Corvette. If you don't want to attract the NSA's attention, you don't send emails with 256-bit encryption. It's insane to me that so many people are using Gmail when Google doesn't begin to pretend they don't snoop on every email you send. In fact they try to make you believe it's a good thing!

All you need to know about the Electronic Frontier Foundation to understand their motivations is who funds them. The Open Society Institute (run by noted uber-rich neo-communist George Soros), the John D and Catherine MacArthur Foundation (which also funds La Raza and Planned Parenthood [AKA Infanticide Incorporated]), The David Bohnett Foundation (which funds anti-Second Amendment causes like the Brady Center, Media Matters and the Violence Policy Center, as well as LGBT-WTF and other "social justice" causes), the California Consumer Protection Foundation (has "socialism" written all over it), The Mitchell Kapor Foundation (champions "social justice" causes and contributes to Soros' Tides Foundation), The David L Klein Jr Foundation (an 'environmental justice' cause) and The Stephen M. Silberstein Foundation (contributes to Soros' Tides Foundation and wants the abolition of the Electoral College). My particular favorite is certifiable ass-hat Cory Doctorow, who formerly ran the European division of EFF, and who famously said, "I am skeptical that capitalism has a future. I am less skeptical that bourgeois democracy has a future, although I don’t think it’s a slam dunk." Anybody who casually drops the word "bourgeois" into a sentence definitely keeps a copy of Chairman Mao's Little Red Book under his pillow.

Reads like a "who's who" of Socialists-r-Us. The only kind of "freedom" these folks are interested in is of the Stalinist variety.

Even if the EFF had good intentions (color me dubious on that account), they'd have exactly two chances for success, slim and none (and slim's on the next bus leaving town). There's no way to exercise any control over the Internet without government involvement, and when was the last time the government got involved in anything that resulted in MORE freedom? The American Revolution is the only thing that comes to my mind....

What is it they say about the three most commonly told lies? The check is in the mail, I promise not to cum in your mouth, and I'm from the government and I'm here to help you. I might have been born in the morning but it wasn't this morning. I ain't buying it.

That is why I won't do two shows a night anymore, I won't.
