I drink the ones Loose Cannon is talking about everyday. The egg whites in a carton that are pasteurized so you don't have to worry about any bacteria.

I thought I read somewhere that the salmonella is on the shell, not inside. I've been eating raw eggs for decades and never had an issue. Hell had a few raw eggs to wash down the avocado I had earlier.

The bacteria typically lives in the yolk. That being said if you buy carton egg whites they are generally double pasturized.

I drink two cups of egg whites in a kale and blueberry smoothie and I swear by it!

Thanks for all the input first of all. There were a few comments that recommended another form of eggs that probably more than likely added a processing phase to the egg I think for good reason I don't trust processing methods and what they use. With that said and from the other comments I will not only encourage her but join her. Her research (google machine) led her to some interesting facts though. If you eat just egg whites (raw high levels of avidin, protein that binds to biotin) it can cause biotin deficiency (dry falling hair, nail growth...etc guess it dries ya out) to counteract eat a yolk once in a while and take a biotin vitamin.....as far as the boil cooking or whatever the raw egg eating is just a time issue or whatever it's easier to eatem raw then Cookem..salmonella can be in the egg or on the outside shell cooking kills it.

Here's an update on raw egg consumption. I've been drinking them ever since I started the thread. It's way easier to just drink them, usually do 4 whites and two yolks in the morning and some pre workout. I found a few articles on this most of them say the safety depends on the source of the eggs. Grade A or B is the highest level of contamination. These chix are de-beaked, packed in and pumped full of antibiotics. Cage free means they are packed in a Wharehouse similar to grade A B. The best bet if you can find them is pastured (not pastuerized). These chix roam and eat feed + forage for grubs and such. If you're lucky enough to find a local chix farmer that's a good bet too. The risk is always there (shell and interior) but you can lower it by choosing the source of the egg.

from everything i have read and been taught by some smart people.. hard boiled gets you the most out of the egg as in it digests the best and the most nutrients are absorbed this way. that is what stuck with me and what my brain has chose to remember for sure lol. and if i remember correctly raw is the least digestible and the least amount of nutrients are absorbed this way.
