Going keto
Hey guys I've recently torn my quad so can't train for a while, I'm sure once I can start moving I can do upper body machines but obviously no cardio.
I was 5 weeks out of my first show and was doing carb back loading which was working well. I'm thinking I should go full keto while I can't train 100%
Looking at starting at 275 p 115f 25 c ( from veg)
Fat sources will be cream, ghee, peanut butter and coconut oil
Wat u guys think

i found that the first 14 days of keto it helps to stay away from veggies and nut butters I eat pretty much red meat that's high in fat and eggs and bacon and then after 14 days I add in other stuff, it really kicks the diet off and into gear; I also drink a lot of water and eat pickles during that time I keep my fluid levels up I also drink mineral water if you can stand the taste. I try to eat grass fed beef and cool everything in butter from grass fed cows

Awesome I'll take that on board, it's really hard to afford grass fed butter here in Australia!

I just realized I had a couple typos sorry brother lol but it doesn't have to be grass fed beef it just taste better and helps out more in my opinion. We have kerry golds Irish butter in every grocery store here which is grass fed so I just use that but if you can't get grass fed butter then macadamia nut oil is another awesome choice. I also roll chicken breasts and fish in almond flower and fry it and it taste just like fried chicken and fish and it's super low carb

Also you don't have to really workout for keto to work it's basically a survival mechanism by the body so you will lose weight no matter what also keto is actually best for muscle retention especially if you're not training. When you're eating carbs and you don't eat for a little while your body will break down protein to turn into glucose for the brain via gluconeogenisis, when you're on Keto your brain runs off of ketones for fuel and not glucose so muscle tissue is spared

I'm dying to get back into the gym, I can't bend my leg yet so can't get into machines or anything! As soon as I can I will be in the gym!

I love the Keto diet..I cycle between Keto & Atkins year round. Whenever I feel bloated or can tell I've gained a little fat- I just jump on Keto for 2 weeks and then back to Atkins.
