      Let's talk cardio !

Let's talk cardio! Who's doing it? What kind are you doing, how often, are you fasted? Are you doing it for general health purposes, you trying to lean out ?

my personally I can't stand it but when I do it I'm doing LISS type walking in the treadmill for 25 /30 mins. I've read all the studies about HIIT but it just seems my body can't recovery and it spills over and affects my workouts. If I'm doing It typically do it after training or ill do I think on an off day from the gym

curious to hear your guys thoughts

I recently incorporated HIIT with a personal trainer. And we occasional will do weights instead of HIIT but he has me doing high rep volume work which may as well be HIIT.
I decided to use HIIT with some occasional LISS a long side my weight training...
You are right about recovery bro...it is much harder doing say a good solid leg workout the day after prowler pushing and box jumps! I'm actually tired today and won't train because of HIIT. But see that's what I recognized...i can train weights 6 or 7 days in a row using a sensible split routine.... Train a body part 2x a week. Yes I was working hard but I was not getting the conditioning... now I'm realizing with HIIT I can take my conditioning to a whole new level...by doing so I can make some amazing changes to my body....obviously it's beating me up but I need to stay with it...eat well and get proper rest!!

So many times guys won't like how they progress.. they don't like their look. So they add more gear or push heavier weight...but don't overlook conditioning!
When you get your conditioning up the body fat falls off and the look you want comes out.
If your weight training and LISS are on par you should have the conditioning...but if your body has adapted or your intensity is off...HIIT can snap you back to form

I use a personal trainer once a week for a one hour low rep high intensity full body workout. Allot of bootcamp type stuff but it breaks the monotony of a elliptical which I do 3 times a week. Im definitely doing it to cut up for summer.

Started up again about a month ago because my lung strength and endurance was pitiful.

I was 'spending time with the wife' one night and had to take a break because I so winded.

Now 3X per week I do 60 minutes interval on the treadmill. I'm usually sweating buckets while doing it

Always hated cardio and absolutely despise running, other than doing sprint work.

Recently finished a short Test and Var cycle and had some elevated Lipid results. In an effort to try and normalize these levels for the first the 1st time in many, many years got back on the treadmill for 30mins cardio 5 - 6 times a week. I set it on the steepest incline to maintain a working heart rate of around 130 - 145 bpm for fast paced walking. Surprisingly I'm enjoying this. Gives me time out with my IPod on do some visualisation exercises etc.

This is how I typically do my cardio I just don't put in on an incline. I noticed I was able to get my HDL up 10 points doing cardio this was three/four times a week. It's a shame I dont stick with it
