How to figure caloric baseline?
So how do I know what my daily calorie requirement is. Is there a formula or is it more trial and error?
Also are there any meal plan guru's or websites a guy can get good ideas from that you guys know of?
Trying to learn how to plan and meal prep. Not easy for someone who hates to plan lol but I'm all in on this one

Bodybuilding 201 bro!
Get yourself the MyFitnessPal app and start tracking what you eat. The only way to know you best is trial and error - see how much you're eating that's causing you to maintain. If you goal is to lose weight, you obviously eat less and vice-versa if your goal is to grow. What you SHOULD eat is plastered ALL over the internet and bodybuilding forums. How much? That's what you need to learn. The best place to start, is track what you're already doing right now. I bet you'll be surprised.

I have the app and have been tracking I've lost 18 lbs so far but just kinda wandering through it lol. Got a food scale and going to be tracking to the exact gram. Just did not know where to start my calorie goals.

Great place to start. That will really depend on the mechanics of your metabolism - everybody's caloric needs are different based off of several factors (age, weight, body type, height, amount of exercise, muscle mass, etc). When you work with a dietitian they will want to know your eating habits to try to break down caloric intake to a math equation. If you don't mind me asking, how many calories are you eating now that's helped you lose the 18 pounds? And what are you hoping to achieve with your nutrition?

I'm at 3473 cal/day right now. I'm going for abs and ripped. Lifted since I've been 16 but never had my diet dialed in.

Find your TDEE and adjust accordingly. You can google TDEE on line and program your info. That will get you started.

Body weight x 14 = estimated daily cal maintenace level. Then go body weight x 17 = daily cal maintenance level...average the 2 for your. (This is what Ive used anyway, not sure if its the best method, but gets u in the park)
Eat above or below for your goals...if no result, drop or add a few 100 cals a day.

Keep your meals simple if you can. Meats veggies and adjust your carb intake according to your goals. Once you get used to the process you can add as you go.
