Tried jasmine rice once and never went back. Only type of rice I can eat by the cup just plain if I wanted to.

Basmati only for me when I cook ... excellent taste & lowest on glycemic index of all whites

This is an interesting thread/debate. My wife is a brown rice believer, I personally don't care for it but I do enjoy jasmine and basmati. I am addicted to short-grain/sushi rice, although she constantly keeps it from me and gets on the "brown rice = low GI soapbox".
thank you guys for the subjective/anecdotal responses, I believe these carry a lot of weight. However, does anyone have any peer-reviewed studies on this? I would love to show them to the Mrs.
I will see what I can find. Thanks.

How about brown jasmine rice?? Actually didn't know about it till a dinner last night, it might be a new favourite.

It really comes down to how YOU feel. your genetics are unique to you, however scientifically speaking I understand jasmine is best. I eat white tho :P
