Ideas for meals when living in a hotel
Just as the title states, I am living in a hotel at the moment. Not as one may think though, I travel doing environmental health and safety in construction. So during a project I stay in hotels.
Now, for those who may not know, here is what I have available in most hotel rooms. A fridge, microwave, sink. Not a lot to work with. And most newer hotels have the sprinkler system built into the rooms and no smoking is allowed at all, so if I cook on a hot plate or indoor grill, it will set off the sprinkler. Fast food is sometimes a have to, due to working long hours and trip to and from work etc. I can do cold meats and sandwiches. I have done canned chicken with rice you cook in the microwave, yet the chicken is super high in sodium. Buying a nice meal at night at a restaurant is sometimes an option, but that does not solve the breakfast / lunch issue.
Any advise and guidance which I can be given would be greatly appreciated. As diet is by far my largest issue and I am done slamming my head against a wall for easy meals which I don't have to cook.

When I recently traveled for work I brought meal prep with me because I was only packing a suitcase for a week. I would check out local meal prep companies (local gyms usually can help with that) depending on how long your there. Sometimes they can get it to you next day. Other than that I would eat out as plainly as possible.

another option is local supermarkets, I have one by me that sells grilled chicked breast as well as rotisserie chicken, maybe a little higher in sodium but not like canned. I also like canned tuna, easy and taste good.

I have travelled for years and actually do best with meals when staying in hotels.
Goerge foreman for chicken breast and a rice cooker. Microwave eggs and egg whites (sometimes I drink them raw), granola and Greek yogurt, whey protein and carbolite.
This was always my go to foods for hotel living. Cheap easy and effective!

I have thought of the meal prep companies, but am worried of the overall cost of doing so.

Do you not have issues with the George Foreman Grill giving off too much? I am not able to crack a window nor ventilate the air.

Got a rotisserie chicken last night at the grocery store. Can't have a george foreman or any indoor grills.

I know it sounds nasty but when I have a hotel I’m concerned about that I use it on the bathroom counter with the fan on.

Well, that's an idea. I can just see me now explaining that I was cooking food in the bathroom and set the fire alarms and sprinklers off on the floor. Sounds like I am cooking meth LOL

Yeah a foreman and a hot plate are ideal for hotels. I usually just get my rice from a local Chinese restaurant.
