Just want everyones opinions on how they taper off calories during a cut. Do you take off every week or only when fat loss starts to diminish ?/

If your in a hurry do it weekly, but I wouldn't suggest that. Protein is the last to go, but I wouldn't try to cut those calories at all
If your just starting and calories are pretty high I would drop 500 right out of the gate. You could do 250 cals from fats and carbs, just depends what your break down is.
Could just start out at 250 cals as well
Don't forget your fasted cardio
I have tried both ways. I can only speak for my body but I found the fast drop of calories is less efficient.
The negitive
- Quickly become tired, bitchy, fatigued
- The body naturally adapts so once it does you are left with no where to really go.
The positive
- Could be good for something you want to do quickly
I have found the slower drop works really good.
The negitive
- It could take 3 to 4 months at least to get where you want
The positives
- more play room when you stall
- Less noticeable sides from lack of food
- Less loss of strenth ( if you cycle you might not notice any at all or even still gain)
I personally just start by dropping like 100- 200 calories and maybe adding in a few higher intesity training days or a hiit or cardio session. As you stall continue to remove calories and then continue to add cardio or hiit or even adding 15 min onto your lifting sessions.
I personally deduct a little from my fat and the rest from carbs. I also bump up my protein compared to what I eat when not trying to drop bf.
Although some people might do better with a lower fat compared to carbs. That wasnt the case for me.
Carb cycling can help too. Not even necessarily a routine of it but on off days eat less carbs and heavy days take in a few more . Even a change of 25-50g

I drop 250 at a time as weight loss or fat loss slows. If everything is going well, I leave it alone.
