My rule is 2 hours for solid meal and 1 hour for a shake to clear my stomach before gym. The only thing fresh in my stomach in the gym is pre-workout.
As far as keto and energy, I never have an issue with it. Also, my motivation in the gym doesn’t come from food.

If I eat too soon before I train I feel sick and weak. I train hard and severely tax my nervous system though. I think you should wait at least an hour after eating before training. I believe if there is too much food in your stomach, your body has extra blood focusing on digesting instead of it being in your muscles where it belongs.

Yes you should eat. I'm a firm believer putting most of your carbs around your workout unless your smashing 300 grams or more. I eat an hour before hand. Eat something that digests well
Cream of rice, a tbsp of nut butter, and a really good isolate protein. Don't buy cheap garbage lol

      Rice, chicken, avocado

      Add some fruit

      English muffins with honey etc

Foods that DIGEST WELL and don't for get PINK SALT MAX lmao

I would say depending on your goals like drop some fat, I would do fasted cardio only. Maybe pick a few just cardio days with maybe abs.
Personally I need fuel to run the motor.
You could also try brining a Intra workout drink to replenish your glycogen after you do fasted cardio and do some lifting after.

Nicely worded 9Tmare! I’m the same way, I gotta have something in my stomach when I’m lifting!!! Go hard or go home!!!

I prefer to lift on an empty stomach. Especially if I work legs. If I do eat it's really light and an hour before.

If I have time I like to wake up and make a Hafthor Bjornsson inspired breakfast.

      Keep in mind he's 6' 8" 427lbs.

      6 scrambled eggs
      6 strips of bacon
Large bowl of oatmeal with multiple types of seeds added, flax, chia, etc
      Orange juice

I personally hate protein shakes it makes me not look forward to to working out having that after taste in my throat!

I'd rather make a Hafthor type breakfast. I'm 5'9" 190 so this usually does me right:

      4-5 scrambled eggs
3-4 strips of thick cut bacon or turkey bacon
      2 packs of oatmeal
      Coffee

If I'm still hungry I'll add in stuff like this:
      - Half a bagel w/cream cheese or peanut butter
      - Yoplait yogurt cup
      - Banana
      - Glass of milk

Pretty friggin simple but somewhat time consuming but I almost always make this on my days off from work and I always have beast workouts an hour or two after eating this.
