      by no means an expert. I slowly lowered my carb intake to avoid the mental mind drain of going cold turkey. I try to get my carbs in first thing in the morning. Other than that I enjoy the diet but again I’m no expert.

      Keto hinges on DHA and fish oil.
      You will likely need a potassium supplement.

      Low dose test should be fine.

      Fast for three days. And you will achieve glycogen and carb depletion faster.

      The urine sticks only work for the first month and are best used in the morning.
      After that a glucose ketone tester is best.

      Their are a few different kinds of keto diets. Full blown 30 carbs or less.
      Many lifters do cyclical keto. Small doses of carbs before and after a workout. Low carbs on days you don’t lift.

      Your macros will likely look like 130 grams of protein or less.

      30 grams of carbs. More than this commonly stops people from achieving actual ketosis.

      No vegetable oils. Fruit or nut oils only. After 30 carbs and your protein. The remainder of calories is from fat.

      Your cholesterol will look screwed up because of keto. Make sure you let anyone reading blood tests know you are doing keto.

      Count all carbs even fiber carbs. Sugar alcohols count as half carbs.

      If you use sweetener use stevia liquid or monk fruit.

      All the powdered version have maltodextrin.

      1.0 to 3.0 ketones blood level is best.

      Eating twice a day works best when you get to that level.

      It takes 4-6 weeks to become fat adapted and be used to the diet and feel good. Body burning fat.

      It can induce insomnia in some people. Not common though.

      A lot of your blood markers drop or stabilize at lower levels. Including test if not supplemented.

      Use Pinterest for meal ideas. Probably less restrictive than a bodybuilding diet.

      Keto flu is real. Use salt to alleviate. Specifically pink sea salt. A little in your coffee and water through the day.
