Man... my most favorite, memorable and most enjoyable holidays have always, without a doubt, been the ones where people gather to hang out and relax, play games, watch movies, enjoy bonfires with símores, go potluck style with food and treats.... but no presents or gifts... one time i caught myself just grinning ear to ear and watching everyone truly just enjoy each otherís company.... I never felt more connected to other human beings than I did that day and I was just basically watching the whole time.... I even love piling into the vans and SUVís to drive around looking at the neighborhoods who go all out with decorations....

So Iíd say, traditionally I seek out where I can enjoy a day such as mentioned above all or anywhere else...

I dislike very much anything involving gifts, pressures of buying gifts, or watching parents, single mothers, grand parents, husbands/wives etc... getting depressed because they feel stress, pressure, inadequate, not good enough... all because they canít afford to buy things for others for these commercialized holidays... people drown themselves deep into debt in some cases.... I understand itís on the individual to self manage and obviously learn how to not be affected by such negativity surrounding not being able to buy big ticket items for others... but I also see the manipulative and purposefully targeting of peopleís psychie to cause such negative emotions...

So Iíve been making it a point to attend only no gift giving events and partaking in enjoying the company of others and enjoying great food. It means a lot to me knowing people put in time and effort to cook and bake for others. To share with.
Thatís very cool man! Enjoying the true spirit of Christmas!! Recently my family has moved out of town so I absolutely look forward just to spending time with loved ones and nothing more.

On the other hand, I absolutely love gift giving but donít actually care about the gift recieving. I love spoiling my wife and I usually get gifts for my friends too. Not because I feel like I have to or even expect anything in return. I just genuinely enjoy doing it.

With CowboyMike on this one. The dinner is best, sugar cured ham, sweet potatoe casserole, oyster dressing, yeast rolls and pecan pie for dessert.
