      Organic Is Actually Healthier

Research Proves Eating Organic Is Actually Healthier

A new research review concludes that going organic reduces exposure to harmful chemicals.

      by Tiffany Gagnon

Finally, the big debate is settled: organically grown foods are, in fact, healthier than their conventionally grown counterparts. Published in the British Journal of Nutrition, the largest study of its kind concluded that organic crops contain more antioxidants and fewer pesticide residues.
Researchers examined 343 publications that compared the nutritional quality and safety of organic versus conventional plant-based foods. To avoid outside influence, almost all crops studied were grown in the same area and on similar soils.
The scientists found that going organic reduces your exposure to agricultural chemicals by nearly 50%. Conventional crops were three to four times more likely to have pesticide residue, and exposure to them has been linked to birth defects, nerve damage, and some cancers.

Not only are you cutting your contact with harmful chemicals by buying organic, you’re also fueling your body with more nutritious food—it’s a fact. The research says that by switching to an organic diet, you would experience a 20 to 40% increase in antioxidant and polyphenol consumption (which is equivalent to adding on two additional servings of fruits or veggies per day).
Sure, it may be a bit more expensive but in light of this research, buying organic is definitely worth the few extra bucks if you can swing it.

I have always been a huge advocate of eating as much organic as possible. If you take the time to buy in season produce and price check, it can actually be cheaper than regular food

I have read interviews with jay cutler and he swears that organic meats and produce help fight bloating and promote leaner muscle
