i suggest . go to like vitamin shoppe and get a magnesium glycinate or citrate. citrate may cause u to shit for the first 5 days, its a quicker absorption where glycinate is more time release sorta thing as ive read. they have a higher bioavailability that will increase absorption
i was s supplement guru before TRT. magnesium also lowers cortisol

Thanks for the info. I take it to sleep. Calcium works hand in hand with magnesium. You need it to absorb properly. So, keep that in mind.

Yes sir! I got my father loading up for the decalcification properties and the list of benefits of Magnesium supplementation are jaw dropping. I've been researching Magnesium for a bit lately. My wife has been having a battle with migraines and it has gotten worse in the past year. Magnesium is shown to be lower in people with migraines also when the migraine is triggered. Magnesium has helped her tremendously more so in the oil form.
CHECK OUT Magnesium Oil aka Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate Flakes. The best come from the ancient zechstein seabed. You can make the oil from the flakes at a super low cost per serving. 1:1 ratio mixed with heated distilled water....1 cup of flakes to 1 cup of distilled water. Mix together and let cool then put in a spray bottle. 4 sprays is equal to 66mg of high absorbing Magnesium. Its transdermal absorption has a very high bioavailability than thru the gut. Not saying that oral ingestion is worthless; i still use Magnesium Citrate at night to help me sleep and taken at night the Magnesium stays in the intestines for a longer period of time thus increasing bio availability and yes high doses of Magnesium Citrate at 500mg and above will clean you out!
Magnesium Oil helps with muscle soreness from the gym and now many trainers are using it for sports injuries for athletes. Magnesium oil acts as a vasodialator where its applied, so even for a deep tissue massage its fuckin awesome! People add it to a bath but it takes like 4 cups of the flakes which is pretty wasteful compared to making the oil. Also works as a natural deoderant and it works. Just don't apply after shaving!
Check it out Brothers!!! 80% of the population is deficient on Magnesium and Calcium levels have never been higher. Rewind 100 years ago and it was the opposite.

A relatively high concentration of magnesium in the blood offers protection against hardening of the arteries, write epidemiologists from Mexico City in Nutrition Journal. Their study, in which 1267 Mexicans took part, revealed that magnesium also offers protection against high blood pressure and type-2 diabetes.
Magnesium
Magnesium is found in wholegrain products, nuts, dark chocolate, and leafy green vegetables such as spinach and soya. Because magnesium is found mostly in organic plant and animal-based foods we consume less and less of the mineral. We consume more and more industrially produced foods with a very low nutritional value.
In countries where the diet is determined by the food industry,
magnesium intake is sufficient not to become sick, but it is no longer at the level that nutritionists consider optimal.
Study
The researchers studied 1276 Mexicans, aged between 30 and 75, all of whom were free of cardiovascular disease. The subjects were scanned to check whether they had hardening of the arteries. [CAC-score > 0 = a form of arteriosclerosis.]
The researchers also measured the level of magnesium concentration in the participants' blood. On the basis of this the researchers divided the participants into four equal-sized groups. These are called quartiles.
Results
The more magnesium the participants had in their blood, the healthier they were. And a relatively high magnesium level not only reduced the chance of arteriosclerosis, but also the chance of high blood pressure and type 2-diabetes.
Mechanism
The researchers suspect that
magnesium inhibits inflammatory processes that play a role in the hardening of the arteries.
[Am J Clin Nutr. 2007 Apr;85(4):1068-74.]
They also think that the positive effect of magnesium on blood pressure has to do with magnesium's ability to displace calcium.
[Am Heart J. 1984 Jul;108(1):188-93.] Calcium causes blood vessel walls to squeeze together and magnesium does the opposite.
[Br J Pharmacol. 1987 Jul;91(3):449-451.] [Acta Physiol Hung. 1992;79(3):295-303.]
The researchers do not know for sure how magnesium reduces the chance of type 2 diabetes.
Conclusion
"The results of this study strongly suggest that lower serum magnesium levels are associated with coronary artery calcification in Mexican subjects free of clinically apparent cardiovascular disease", the researchers concluded. "Confirmation of these results in other populations is required." "
"Additional prospective studies are also needed to determine if hypomagnesaemia predicts the development and progression of coronary atherosclerosis."

Also check out Magtein! It was developed by a couple MIT grads and they trademarked it. It's the only form of Magnesium that crosses the blood brain barrier. It's not cheap but has cognitive benefits including memory, recall, learning ect.
It's seems to be helping people with Alzeimers and Dementia. Which I feel for anyone who has a family member going thru that terrible shit.

Great info on this thread and great study Pain. Too right the benefits of magnesium are almost endless but as mentioned it's also important to keep the balance of other minerals too. Maintaining that homeostasis is important

I got some magnesium from walmart and I took it for a few months and got bloods and my doctor said 'what supplements are you on' and I told her magnesium and she said I need to discontinue it immediately as my iron was through the roof and it was going to cause some problems. No idea what the deal with that is. It definitely wasn't an iron supplement, it said magnesium on it. Freaked me out.
