      Whey or Blend?

Just wanted some input back from some of the guys on who drinks what post workout? Ive used whey for years and recently have been using a blend. Wanted to see who uses what and why? They say that its better to have a blend post workout to steadily feed yourself over those few hours. I worry that I dont get enough whey upfront though.

      Whey protein isolate.
Why would you need to “steadily feed yourself” protein if you are going to be eating a meal in a couple hours anyway?

Thats what I said too. I only drink a shake after the gym really. I use to drink casein before bed but just eat cottage cheese now its cheaper plus I believe in trying to get everything from a whole food source. Thanx for your input brother.

I eat 15-20 eg whites before bed (depending on calorie goal). They digest slowly and egg whites have one of the highest PER but the slow absorption makes them less than ideal as a day protein source. Morning and night only for me.
BTW, I noticed that they are pasteurized so drink them makes consumption quick and effortless. I still cook mine though.

You should avoid dairy. It sucks really. Lots of things besides protein in there. Whey isolate is the only dairy I touch.

My man thank you for the help. So in the morning Ill eat 3 whole eggs and about 8-10 whites. You think I should replace that in the morning? And lose the cottage cheese at night and go with the egg whites? I worry about if I eat a bunch of whole eggs in the morning consuming too much fat early on and not having room for any more through out the day

Isolate of gtfo. Blends and casein are silly nobody needs to be feeding around the clock give your digestive track a rest

You can’t eat too much fat if you are consuming it naturally in clean protein sources and EFAs and cooking. (I use macadamia nut oil and don’t hide I am a Species customer).
I don’t know where yo are at but those egg white cartons at Costco are 15 egg whites each. I eat two a day. One in the morning and one at night. I used to do 10 whites morning and 20 at night but I couldn’t take the volume before bed any longer.
Every third day I do 4 whole eggs and 5 whites, morning and night.

I hover around 208 and last competed at 191, so adjust volumes accordingly for your target of lean body weight.

I use a blend sometimes, only if i cant eat, but i love eating so thats rarely ever an issue, imo its not needed if your eating well
This one is an iso, concentrate, casein blend with lactase enzyme which seems to help keep the bloat down for me

After working out insulin levels increase, insulin sensitivity is increased, obviously a fast absorbing protein in the gut is important.

Whey protein without equivocation is better after your workout due to this property alone.

I even like using a partitioning agent after my workout with my shake and some (a few or many) carbs depending on my goals.
