Yes, it's true that only 1 in 20,000 eggs actually contain salmonella and most that get sick from it usually obtain it through poultry meats as opposed to eggs. However, I prefer the pasteurized egg whites in the carton, they're so easy to guzzle down in the morning or after the gym. Also blends well with shakes. The supplement store down the street from me actually sells them flavored as well, really good, however a bit more $$.

And I believe the salmonella bacteria is actually on the shell. So you would need to drop a piece of cracked shell in the egg to contaminate the egg.

I don't believe that eggs can really conduct you with salmonella. Actually, you can get it everywhere, but not in egg. As for the shake, one of my favorite is Peanut Butter and Jelly Shake: this drink will offer you a lot of proteins from soy milk, peanut butter and the protein powder. The recipe provides your body with 228 calories and only 7.5g of fat. It also gives you 16g of proteins and 5g of fibers. Here is what you need: one cup of mixed berries, one or two big spoons of peanut butter, 1/4 th a cup of protein powder, two big spoons of oat and one cup of milk.
