One final slin question
I have been doing my research on insulin and have everything (on paper) where I feel comfortable with what I need to do nutritionally and timing wise. The last part that confuses me is I've seen it's advised to stay away from fats during the window if using novolin which has a duration of somewhere between 5-8 hours are fats necessary to avoid the entire 8 hours or more so just in the peak? I typically respond to a high fat diet better so I am trying to figure out how to work this. Thanks in advance!

I don't think it's necessary, I didn't. the old school of though process to that is if you take in fat the slin will shuttle the fat into the fat cells which is garbage.
What protocol will you be following?

I guess that's what I've seen from time to time and heard so I really wouldn't want to screw something up. And I'm going to start with post work out at 2 iu then every second successful day add 1 iu to build to 5 for my first run.
I know my shake may be a little overboard but I'd rather be safe.
I'm going to do the typical shake post training
( my stomach can't really handle 2 scoops ) so I stay at about 1.5 of whey which is about 36 grams of whey
50 grams dextrose ( start at 50 I am thinking to add 10 grams for every unit I add to my 5 then start to drop from there.)
7 gram creatine
5 grams of glutamine.
Followed by a whole food meal about an hour after. Which will just be chicken and rice.
Then I would start to add my fat back in sometime after that. I guess when you think about it if I use some carb enough to not go hypo and keep in my fat there is no real reason the insulin wouldn't push the fat to the muscle to use.

I would recommend doing it preworkout this way you cover the pre , intra and post workout period
Start small like you're doing 2iu and build your way up. 5 ius really isn't that much, I believe the body can handle 4ius on its own with out carbs although I am not recommending or in anyway shape suggesting this

I've researched pre but was nervous about some saying you need multiple shakes. If I had the one Shake pre workout do I then need to drink one intra? Or if I consume whole food would I just need intra shake? That's the only part that confuses me and makes me more nervous is going hypo mid workout. I appreciate you offering some good food for thought!

There's so many different protocols I was using one from basskiller it was two shakes , one right after of 10 mins after the slin pin and then one you sip on through the workout

General rule of thumb 10 carbs per iu of skin , always have simple sugars on you , I walked around with a bag of sweet tarts in my pocket and had a regular soda in car. Have fun nothing beats a slin pump!!

Joko- Did you monitor your blood levels? How would you use your slin pre? Take your shake 10 mins after your slin shot?
