I am on a “bulk” and increased my calories a bit. Probably protein and carbs by 30% or so (sorry, been to lazy to tally up in Cronometer).
My morning/fasting blood sugar had been around 96-101 every morning. I have diabetes all over my family so this surplus food thing causing high bs caused me a bit of concern. So based on a few threads, maxmuscle1’s specifically, I figured I would give my beta cells some reprieve and add some Lantus in the mornings.
I bought some at Costco for about $20usd/3ml pen and started with 40iu upon rising. From then on my bs has been in the low 80s in the morning. After 3 days I dropped it to 30iu and it’s holding steady. Not much insulin nor much change but keeping my bs out of the “pre-diabetic” range seems like a good idea.
I will begin prep in January and hopefully the drop in calories will negate the need for exogenous insulin. We shall see.
