      There have been different experiments in a variety of mammals that correlated between fasting, and especially lower calories intake, to longevity, how ever this couldn't be duplicated in human beings.

      GH is a stress hormone (in adults), hence when we deprive the body from food it is secreted and enables to mobilize fat and sugars to the circulation and help us cope with the stress, how ever the higher GH levels here carry no real anabolic benefits, more ever it is clinically proven that lower calories intake in humans as well as vegan diet lowers IGF1 levels..

      There re potential health benefits to fasting on different diseases and syndromes, but generally eating one meal day for an active athlete is counterproductive.

      Yes it was a generalization, I assume that avoiding meet by itself is not the root for lower IGF1 levels, how ever what I do assume that caused is some experiments the lower IGF1 levels is the relatively lower protein intake in vegan diet, and especially the imbalanced amino acids proportion and relative lower ratio of some essential amino acids (especially leucine). Other thing is lower intake of saturated amino acids as well as cholesterol (along with lower vitamin D) which supports some vital hormonal synthesis and activities
