First Run With Lantus
Just figured I'd jump on and post for anyone interested. Going to be doing a 4-6 week run with lantus. Starting at 30iu before breakfast. Today was day 1 and so far feeling ok. Have used humilin r and humalog before. Seeing what lantus does. Plan is to build up to around 60iu. Also using test, deca, and gh. Anyone with experience want to share their experiences feel free.

Quick update, using 30iu yesterday morning didn't have any effect on my morning fasting glucose. Yesterday before pinning 30iu my glucose was 90. This morning it was 91. I increased to 35iu today to see if it has any effect on my blood glucose. The pens came from overseas so I'm hoping they weren't exposed to high temperatures and became degraded.

I’m really not well versed in insulin. But do you know if it’s true that insulin use can make you diabetic? I read that and immediately got disinterested. I was only beginning to look into Lantus though. Only cracked the surface.

From my understanding if you're taking in a lot of carbs then insulin use can actually save you from becoming a diabetic. Exogenous insulin would take strain off the pancreas by not having the beta cells continuously have to secrete insulin. This is what I've heard Milos and Dave Palumbo say and it makes sense to me.

I’ll be giving Lantus a run when it arrives. Will be about 6 weeks. And astevens2, if the stuff is bad it will be discolored or even have specks in it.

Lantus was very weak IMO . I only got anabolic effects from it . I think I went up to 60iu .
The GH raised my Sugar levels and that is when I noticed a higher A1C . It could be I had began my 50’s and genetics didn’t favor me . Regular bloodwork became laxed as I knew AAS was problematic with my propensity to take them in excess .

I've only used Humalog pens and 12iu pre and 12iu post workout was strong asf. I was always prepared for the worst and even at that I went hypo a couple of times and man what a bitch that was. 1st time I was in the kitchen and went to shaking & twitching like my ass was on fire, legs became wet noodles and I barely made it to the fridge in time to chug OJ. Scared the shit outta me and I'm very methodical my use and habits. It was definitely an eye opener in regard to the risks.
If you're seasoned, have done extensive research, do a heavy carb load with it, and are looking to break a plateau then slin can get ya there. However it's not like AAS. That shit can render you comatose. It is not a mutha fuqn game. I spent yrs preparing, had several close friends helping and monitoring me, and I still had a couple close calls.
It certainly has its place in BB'n but it's not for the average Source board member who runs AAS.

Found this digging around, discuss
Short-acting insulin use for a bodybuilder is the other choice. No intermediate (medium acting) here unless you are a diabetic having trouble controlling your blood sugar levels in between meals. Otherwise, you are going to miss the peak hour for your meal of insulin levels and then go hypo when you have nothing in your body and possibly catabolic due to glucagon that I already talked about above. Short-acting insulin is not too tricky, but you must also factor in your gastric emptying rate. Some are slower and some are faster than others.
As an example, even a doctor (a good one) will advise your needs might be 15 minutes before a meal or 15 minutes after a meal. This is something you have to figure out on your own by feel and/or BG readings. If you notice you start feeling hypo during a meal, your gastric empty rate might be slow, and/or you took your insulin too early before the meal. Or if you notice you are going hypo long after a meal. You took your insulin too late for your meal and or your gastric emptying rate is fast. I personally find on average most do best with 10-15mins before a meal with items like Humalog (a short-acting insulin)

First Run With Lantus
Also, the author says using short acting insulin with every meal is optimal. So 6 meals a day equals 6 shots a day. To hell with it, I’m linking the entire article. He seemed fairly certain of himself
