I have luer lock needles (obviously). I just insert the needle minus the syringe in the vial I am filling and insert the fill syringe right next to it. I think everyone makes a bigger deal out of it than it really is (I know I did). The biggest thing is to use common sense when it comes to contamination. While you want to be careful and as sterile as possible throughout the process, the solution is not sterile until AFTER it is filtered. So, from that point on you really need to use best practices.
