sterilization of glass filtration and membrane filter

Questions around sterilization around a apparatus filtration system and a membrane filter

      1. How do you sterilize or clean this part? especially the white sponge part on the inside

      2. How do you sterilize a membrane tilter or is it not required? FYI its a PVDF filter

Spraying some BA over something won't sterilize it, just so you guys know. Many people do this, use isoprop alcohol or BA.

To sterilize glassware you need an autoclave (proper ones have programmed cycles.) As korsaire said you can use a pressurecooker BUT you can't just get a random pressurcooker. It needs to get up to 15 psi (121 °C / 250 °F) for 15-20min.

It's important that pressure and steam gets in to the places you want sterilized.

It's a pain in the ass to sterilize stuff. I'd rather just buy sterilized bottle top filters.

I use the pressure cooker for the glassware and other utensils. Works great
