You probably got a PES filter. Next time get a PVDF bottle top filter! I really recommend you filtering your gear. It takes such little effort and minimizes the risk of you hurting yourself.

What I've read, BA only stops bacteria from growing/reproducing, it doesn't kill spores. You can inject some really bad things if you don't filter your gear.

Alcohol in general is just a disinfectant, google and read about it.

THX, speaking of BA, how do you know how much to use? Some folks say 1%, some say 2%. So which is it exactly? I’m leaning towards 1% for all brews. Thoughts?
