Looking for some info, first-time home brewing here, getting my materials ready and was wondering how many times I can use a
.45um syringe filter?

Syringe Filters - GPZ Med Lab
I would get the .22u filter as that is the industry standard last I looked and will catch much more of what yo don't want ending up getting into you. That is what I have used for many years. I can usually get around 100mls through a filter before it gets so slow and hard to push that I am afraid of rupturing them.
Thanks i will look at that site.
What are the thoughts on sterile vs. Non-sterile filters
As stated above, get .22 micron. That is the USP standard for sterility. Also try to get the largest diameter, e.g. 25mm. More surface area=lessclogging.
Some people prefilter with .45 to extend life of .22.
As far as sterility, just push some BA through the filter first. When it likely your are using questionably sterile/clean glassware and doing all this in the open air, sterile filters would be overkill and not cost effective.
