      My automatic syringe filter press

I built this the other day. It's made entirely out of stainless steel. It uses a 6lb and 4lb stainless steel shafts for press weights. It also has all thread rods that I can twist incase it needs more pressure, but I've never needed them yet. It has rubber padding to hold vile from slipping. I only have to load syringe up with brew attach filter to vile put into press add weights and walk away takes about 3-5 min to filter 10ml, it will also do 20ml viles. No more broken forearms for me. No more work infact its filtering while I type this

Lol! I dig it! Glad to see I’m not the only guy who over thinks and over engineers things.

I made it real quick on my lunch hour out of scrap stainless steel. I like to build things. My wife gets mad at me sometimes because I start alot of Hobbies that require me to engineer and build things and then when I'm done building it I get bored and move on to a new hobby. Every time I walk through my works scrap yard and parts room I'm always thinking of what I can build with random junk

Very impressive. I plan on making something similar for hands free.

Have you messed around with Arduino? You could add a stepper motor to that and make it full auto.

I'm not very good with computers. I've never messed with arduino. I could try finding a small motor and attach pulleys to it and the all thread and try to figure out a micro timer to slowly turn the motor on and off. The hard part would be finding a small electric motor with enough torque. However its probably more money and work then it's worth
