You don't have to throw away your vials, you can probably use that gear. If you want to be extra careful just re-filter them.

Yeah you need some distance between the water and the vials and equipment that you're sterilizing. Easy and cheap way is to get a vegetable steam basket or something to put the stuff on.

Didn't notice a flow hood in your list of most important things. As I keep saying, all these procedures are moot if done in open atmosphere.

Yeah some bacteria is a pain in the ass to get rid of. The pressure and heat will destroy the spores though. Dry heat isn't recommended. Majority of people still use their oven though.

I mostly wrote it for "kitchen chemists" That's why I didn't mention flow hood. It's pretty nice to have one but TBH it's not crucial as long as you're careful. Oil and vials don't have much contact with the "outside" anyways.

It's easy to build a flow hood though.

I recommend you guys to only make gear for like 6months or at most 12 months.

So I should collect all the gear in a beaker, reheat it and filter through .2 micron PVDF filter in new vials.

Tbh I don't think you have to do it. I wouldn't, but it's up to you.

so guy I followed method explained by THX and every thing went perfect. Used sterile water for the cleaning and boiling as well. Thanks THX.
