      Brewing rant about filters

Out of stock on my go to online stores. Of course I sub for notification when they come in stock and then they are out before you know it again! Even bottle top filters are constantly out of stock. The main sizes .45 and .2 in pvdf no matter how you want it, all out of stock. Whatman and others alike. I know Amazon has 50pack for 180$ but I need a few different sizes and not just one type or style. End rant.

Have you used Celltreat syringe filter before? They are about 5x cheaper than Whatmans which makes me skeptical of them.

Had the same question, but about Omicron. Heard using cheap filter is not recommended. Would love some good info.

I buy the best I can get and wait if not readily available. Back when I was counting pennies I hated ordering filters. Now I stock up. The Whatman Polycap are expensive but I won’t use anything else. Even at $60 each. As they say, you get what you pay for.
My partner hates that I have a big stock of consumables but waiting out a restock from suppliers has cost us plenty in the past.
