In all honesty, only a few years, at least at the level I’m at now. I do have decades of lab/biology experience. I had a decent lab before I started brewing.
My aim is top level, proper procedures and equipment but even at a level a homebrewer could accomplish. Almost all of the equipment we have was purchased on eBay for pennies on the dollar. It can be done.
