      How to fix a batch?

My friend has been home brewing for a few years now, and he's never had any issues before but his last batch is causing lumps, soreness, and a warm injection site for a few days.

He said he ordered 250g of Test E, he only used 125g to make 500ml earlier in the year and it was fine.

He finally got around to using the other 125g to make another 500ml but that batch is causing the issues.

The ONLY difference between the "Bad Batch" and the dozens of good ones are that he used a Sterile Autofill Bottle Top Filter. He usually doesn't filter the batch because he buys the filtered GSO.

      Good Batch Bad Batch
      Powder 125g 125g
      Filtered Grapeseed Oil 322.125ml 322.125
      BA 2% = 10ml 2% = 10ml
      BB 10% = 50ml 10% = 50ml
      Sterilization Oven Sterilization Oven Sterilization
Filtration Used N/A Autofil Full Assembly Bottle Top Filter

The batch is in 10ml vials sealed and capped. The oil appears to be clear with no visible debris or any cloudiness. He's not sure what is wrong but he certainly doesn't want to throw the entire batch away. Is there any chance of salvaging the batch? Should he try to sterilize them again? Filter them again?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Man! Sounds like a batch of Test I'm using right now. Every shot is causing swelling, soreness and that same warm injection site for a few days? Source is a legit BOP lab that always has great stuff. Thing is the 1st half of the bottle was gold. So wondering if me warming the oil- cause I use high gage pins- repeatedly over time, somehow degraded the product?

Or, if it just gets old does it destabilize? like you said.. your buddy was good go go with the 1st batch earlier int the year?

test is good for way longer then people think but gear brewed in big batches for some reason some times has issued i used to always maken100ml and never once had issues I have even not filtered it had had no issues the non filtered gear was only for me I wanted to see if there was a difference so I would know if others did it being lazy I wasn't a lazy brewer just wanted to try it had no issues for 500ml at 250 125mg if hormone is right where it needs to be...I always heated bb and hormone let hormone dislove take it off heat cool down and added alcohol and mct oil why is he only using 10% bb thats low i used 18% i believe is he adding some eo to the mix if so that's probably the culprit I would up the bb and brew the way I said no issues should happen

The first 500ml batch was perfect. The second 500ml batch is bad. The raw powder was stored at room temperature for 6 months or so but that certainly wouldn't cause any issues.

He's done batches as small as 100ml all the way up to 5000ml. This is the first batch that he's ever had an issue with. He's ruled out the powder source being the issue so I guess it's down to the Filtered GSO that he used or, is it possible for the vacuum pressure from the Bottle Top Filter to damage the product during the filtration process?

He's just always done 10% BB and 2% BA on Test E 250 and never had issues.

Test E 400 he uses 15% BB and 3% BA.

You don't need to go above 2% ba its not a solvent its to help keep nasties from growing in the vile after sitting on a shelf for awhile
