      .45 filter good enough?

So I've been brewing off and on for many years now and I've always used .22 filters, but I've talked with quite a few guys over the years who swear by .45 filters! I remember reading "how to brew" posts back in the early 2000's and a lot of people were using .45s especially for test-susp. So my question is does anyone here use .45 filters for end product? Thanks
