      Filtering once or twice ?

Hi guys just wanted to get more clarification as I have read a few different things 0.22 filter will make everything sterile but have heard people say to use 0.45 first then use 0.22 after and over the years have heard people save they double filter there gear.

any one have experience on filtering that can help me steer me in right direction just so many different opinions on this matter

It all depends on your oils if you don't get filtered oils then a 0.22 will clog quick depending on how much you brew.. I buy high quality oils and filter twice as I brew 100-200ml at a time so saves time oil goes quickly through 0.45 and then quickly through 0.22

Thanks bro good to here some experience as I seen the double filter method a few times and makes more sense.
are you hand filtering ? As I will be once I can sort out a vacuum filter I will have that option but until then just be the manual way and no can take some time pushing through on syringe filter

Bro un less you are brewing big fuck a vac pump it iakes me 20mins to double filter 100mls that's with changing vials and filters look at my brewing threads and you will see how easy it is.... biggest mistake people make is over thinking it like they need some funked NASA lab to brew lol just constrain the impulse to buy expensive shit you don't need and pay attention to keeping your BB/BA out of the sun light as it degrades very quickly thats why I use brown vials for them and next get a good set of scales and away you go

thanks for info bro I have just read up so many things and see some people taking hours to 100ml and some heaps quicker for more I guess they must not be heating the oil and i assume GSO takes longer then MCT. But I will have a go my self at the end of the week good to hear 100ml took 20min to filter twice

Remember filter when your oil is about 50 degrees Celsius and it will filter quickly don't let it cool

Make note of filtration method's manual. I generally use filler tops, and some are rated for different degree. Too hot can melt the filter inside, and then you'll end up with an unfiltered batch and a ruined filter. For example, the zap cap filter tops are rated at a top degree of 50'C optimal 39'C.
