      Getting a knee replacement..URG

I'm having to need a "knee replacement".I went though injections and ortho-scope,it's all "bone to bone".the doc told me NO LIFTING for at least 16 weeks! I'm bummed cause i dont like long lay-offs from lifting.I've been on a good roll with work outs.making "Great Gains" the last 2 yrs(thanks too D-bol) and afraid i'll lost ALOT from this set back! Has anyong been Though the Same? dont know what do with my time off!Listening to suggestions. Thanks!

Sorry to hear that bro. I have bad knees as well..... Like xmuscle has said try focusing on upper body and make sure your diet is in check and you will be ok.

Are you off gear completely or are you cruising between cycles?

I'm in the same boat my knee has gone through 2-acl and 1 meniscus surgery so my dr. told me NOOOO SQUATTING or Lunges.. EVER... So I try to do as much as I can on the machines and on the eliptical and bike not the same but shit if I won't need a cane at 50 to walk I guesss its worth it

Hey brother Stand Fast I’m 63 had a full knee replacement at 60 proud owner of a new cobalt knee. I’ve been through a multitude of surgeries in my 50’s was completely out ofgame nearly4 years age 53<57 result of mid diagnosis ended up ruptured appendix turned completely septic got MRSA and various other rude awakening nev been hospitalized prior thought I could trust my doc of 23 yrs and hospital real wake up call eye opener the business of medicine cars get serviced better than human beings. Long story short fought my way back always loved the weight pile it’s tha love that kept me strong enough to weather the storm. Anyway knee replacement was the most painful of all the surgeries or procedures I’ve experienced the first two days anyway. But they get you up and moving the first day and it’s a bitch apparently there.was a issue with the nerve block not done properly but after the first two days the progress was rapid shockily so and once any lingering pai subsided it’s been the best thing I’ve ever done. Gave up running bicycle walk hike hit the weights try and go easy on squats and hack squats leg curls but it’s been unbelievably strong. Nothing compared to having my right shoulder rebuilt 4 of 5 ligaments severely torn and labrum that recovery and rehab was a total bitch that’s another story. Be sure you have the right Ortho surgeon and facility learn about the replacement they recommend and study the + & -‘s of their brand of knee make sure you have a top flight physical therapist to guide you that knows your long term goals as should your Orthopedic Surgeon. Hang tough brother you gotta get to it to do it put in the research then put in the work you’ll be on track toward achieving your goals sooner than you think! Old Guy out
