Supraspinatus and long head bicep tendon tears

      Hai,

I recently got Supraspinatus and long head bicep tendon tears on left shoulder because my left shoulder blade wasn't moving properly due to my desk job habits.
That's fixed but as seen in the ultrasound, the damage has been done.

Anyone experience similar before? Doc say will heal by itself in 6 months, but with heals with scar tissue.
I wonder if I can stress the tendon again? Train the same again?
If I was a professional strength athlete, does something like this means end of my career, cause it will never be the same?

I'm taking 6 months off lifting and only doing physical therapy. I am very worried about this, scared I might need surgery if it progress to full tear.

Well I had a ultra sound showing a slight surface tear on one of my tendons. nothing to worry about. However, I got a shoulder injection and 2 months later, I slipped and hurt my shoulder. It wasn't a bad slip o anything, but shoulder hurt so bad. doc ordered an MRI and guess what?

Complete tear of the suprispinatus! and I slipped again on a rock (about 1 1/2 feet while trail/ mountain climbing) and when I hit the ground, my entire body tensed up and I tore something else and it was so freakin painful that I almost went to the er the next day.

Doc wanted me in surgery asap, I got great insurance and awesome employer so I said lets do this. He got in there and not only were supra torn, by long head bicep was torn and my infra as well. He had to anchor everything down . It's been 1 week since surgery and i'm running anavar to heal it up (go read on anavar study with rotator cuff healing). You should toss anavar in 12.5 -25mgs a day.. I'm doing 50. LOL. I can't do anything but I'll get shredded sitting here watching movies all day. But this is painful to type, so I'm done for now. I'm glad I had it fixed.

I'm guess Vinvin is out of the game like me now.. My surgery failed and my bicep tendon won't take and they don't want to revisit it so I have a weird looking bicep. 4 1/2 months and still may have to go under the knife to fix the failed glen labrum.. ugh..

Oh hey, sorry to hear that.
For mine I just full rest (sit on my ass) for 2 months it fully healed.
Then did physio for stretching internal rotators (lats, biceps, pecs, teres minor/major) so it doesn't happen again.

I just had surgery again and he fixed the supra and infra but couldn't fix the bicep. I found a place in NY and one in AZ (where I live) that use cadaver tendon to fix the bicep if you fix it. Personally, I think the doc fkd my bicep up more than it was. He said it was hanging on by a thread, so he cut it and mounted it into the bone, but he didn't (I think) use enough anchors or thread to hold it in place because the day after the surgery i could see the popeye deformity. Supposedly, if you continue to juice it get's worse, but who knows.I wasn't lifting heavy anymore, just athletic strength training and honestly, I was in the best shape of my life until this happened! ugh.I would suggest taking it easy, if you feel pain, stop! let it heal. But def. hook yourself up with anavar - it does heal the tendons if they're still connected. some people, if their tendons are still connected, they'll do plasma or stem cell therapy to help out with the healing. I have seen guys come back to the gym, but you gotta get it fixed before it tears like mine did. What sucks is that I've never hurt my shoulder in my life. I was like you, he needed to go in there and grind down the bone, but i had a supra full tear (benching) and when i fell - it ripped everything. I wouldn't wish this surgery or this on anyone. I wonder if I'll ever be back in the gym.. just depressing as all get out..
