      Shoulder and Bi injury

Really f'd my shoulder up doing incline dumbell press 4 weeks ago.. After a shitty warmup due to gym being overcrowded with dipshits I proceed to go into my first working set with 85lbr's

On the first negative rep I hear an audible pop/joint crack in my right shoulder.. (My shoulders are Infact a little loose and crack sometimes or if I press my hands like I'm praying they'll crack) Took the rest of the week doing heavier than normal on all other body parts cause I was so angry my shoulder got injured, was supposed to start a cycle on jan 1

Ended up injuring my right bi doing alternating curls with 65lb db's the day after the shoulder.. Dr appt booked with one of the well known orthos with a 3 week wait..fast forward to the appt I lifted 2 times within the time uptill the appt thinking I would b healed up (still hurt but probably redamaging the injuries)

      FINALLY THE DR APPT!

go in the guy feels my shoulders says they are loose common with weightlfters.. does the push tests side to side up and down with only pain pushing down when arm extended.. Says I probably had a "minor dislocation " an the labrum or rotator is sore from the popping in and out.. I then said I wasn't comfortable and wanted an X-ray to make sure no partial or SLAP tears .. Says the X-ray was fine but saw cartilage fragments.. Bicep diagnosed with torn muscle fibers and no tendon damage, Didn't really get a confirmed diagnosis or anything on my shoulder but was told take another 3 weeks off.. I really feel like in 3 weeks it won't be better but wanted advice from you guys here.. Do I do my own PT? I've been doing 3-4 sets 12 reps of side abductions and some broom stretching

Really mentally not in a good place from this it's been a bad past month and the no gym is really taking its toll.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated brothas

Get a second opinion by a sports specialist. Most of these d-bags are used to dealing with the elderly and sedentary people and are not especially thorough...

So it's been 4 weeks now and I finally tried doin incline bench with 115.. Hurts on the whole thing esp the negative (where I felt the crack/pop on the originally injury day)

Feels slightly better in general and my bi is def coming back to normal but my front shoulder still has pain while lifting.. Shittiest part is I always tuck my arms and elbows in during incline bench to save my shoulders but maybe I tucked I too much on the rep which caused my tension on the back rotator and popped it? Fuck shoulder injuries.. You guys literally are the only bros who understand my pain everyone in my real life asks why I don't just stop lifting etc..

you guys taking any nsaid's?? Naprosyn/naproxin is my favorite. 440-660mg (gelcaps) 3x per day otc gelcaps do the trick for most of my joint flare ups. Remember it takes 10+ days for nsaid's like naproxin or ibuprofen to affect deep tissue inflamation, the will help with discomfort right away though....

You can take more than 1 pill of naproxin I would say 3 a day tops.

My ortho said for my size (300lbs), anything less than 550mg 3x per day is pissing in the wind when it comes to naproxen. It has a longer half life and you could do 2x per day but he sees better results 3x. With my insurance it is cheaper to get generic OTC gelcaps than fill my script. 3 gelcaps @ 220mg each =660mg. I take that 2x per day when training heavy due to chronic inflamation issues and 3x per day if something "tweaks".
      - Dosage all depends on body mass. If yo are around the 200-250lb range or lower I would not go over 440mg 2-3 times per day.
