      May need a cortisone shot..

I may need* a cortisone shot..

So for the past 2 months now, I have been plagued with golfers elbow. It has come to the point that it is preventing me from training as hard as I need to be.
I've been doing the normal stuff like icing and taking anti inflammatory and it is helping a little bit but I see it progressively getting worse overtime.

so question to you guys, do you think a cortisone shot will help? How would I go about approaching my doctor to get one? Or should I stop training my bies and anything else that is affecting this tendon for a while to let it heal?

I have been taking it easy, I just haven't stopped completely.

Cortisone might help I have pain on the heal of my foot and every 4 or 5 months my girl gives me a kenalog shot and it dramatically improves the pain

I am no dr. but from I do know cortisone shots are just to take the swelling, inflammation, pain away. It will do nothing to fix the "tendon". The only way is to let it heal. Even if your going light your still aggravating it therefore it will not be able to heal properly. Everyone hates to hear it but your going to have to take a break and let It repair itself imo...

Bro go light for a couple of weeks. When I say light I mean super light. My biceps and elbows have been killing me lately too. I start low and do several sets. I've just gotten to the point where I can move up to a moderately heavy weight, but only doing negative lifts. It's really helped me get past this. Also if your on right now make sure it's not high estrogen....

I took cortisone shots after an old ankle injury from a M/C accident needed to be scoped, the benefits were so negligible and they cause scar tissue so they ultimately cause more damage then good, personally I see no benefit from taking them, let it heal, see a PT and use the bands until things improve, IMO.
