2 words. Kevin Levrone. At 51, he was gaining almost a pound a day. Since starting his comeback, I bet he put on 60 pounds of muscle in less than a year. So even if youre not a genetic freak like Levrone, with proper diet, training, and drug use...you can do some pretty amazing shit. Hell, I just went from 260 to 320 in less than a year on 500 of test e a week and Im 42. Gear. FOOD. Train. Rest. We can still run with the young bucks.

I'm not there yet but one of my training spotters is in pretty good shape for 53. He looks like 30's. But I agree it's body type and genetics and your years of experience. You sound like you still have it in ya, hell look what board your on. This tells me your good. YQUOTE=Rogue925;372422]Question for you guys over age 50. How difficult is it for you to gain muscle since hitting the big 50? To be more specific I'm talking about the guys having YEARS of training under the belt and are gear users? I'm 51 and have about 30 years under my belt along with more cycles than I can count. Muscular gain is obviously harder at this point due to age and years under the bar. Just wondering what others are experiencing.........provided sleep, nutrition and training are all in place.[/QUOTE]

I am 51 Done lots of BB Show when I was in my 20s...but was an elite Power lifter till I amassed some injuries...just for fun I will list a few. I was in a head of car collision with a caddy doing in excess of 100 mph. 10 broken ribs, 2 vertebra broken horizontally, the bottom 1/3 snapped completely of and was 4 inches from, my spine, L4-L5 titanium cage fusion, carpol tunnel surgeries in both hands, 8 trigger finger releases done in 3 different surgery's, left knee has a total knee replacement, and last year a pectoral reattachment, there are a few more but you get the picture.. that said; I still lift heavy,I am a lean 250, But I have gone back to BB as it is easier on the body. I have to lift more controlled, still go to failure every set. I amnot as big as when I was 40, but I was 300 lbs and about 15% BF...I felt like crap at that size. I am not sure how big I can get now. I am putting on solid size a strength, but I find I have can not let my mind slip back into PL mode or I end up missing training days. I don't like putting more than 400- 500 lbs on the knee.. it feels good I just don't want to mess it up. Oh, and I am thinking oh competing next year in a BB show. Just depends on how mush quality size I can put on.
